Whenever you travel abroad, you step out of your comfort zone when it comes down to just about all things food related. When you told people you were going to London, you probably heard a snarky remark along the lines of, "good luck when trying to find good food in London.” Like the London rain (which isn't as bad or often as its reputation would make you think), London's eats are much better than their reputation. It's all a matter of knowing where to go. Here are three local favorites that you will love:
Duck and Waffle is one of the most popular restaurants in London. This spot is on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, so patrons get to gaze out at all of London while devouring the "Duck and Waffle," the restaurant's famous dish. This is the perfect place to go at sunrise or sunset, either before or after a fun night out. From flatbreads to duck, everything on the menu is delicious.
While you may be skeptical of the short and sweet menu here, Burger and Lobster does not disappoint. You can choose from the meal options of a burger, lobster or a combo of half of both. Be sure to pick a beverage from their wide variety of cool, fun drinks.
Head over to the Camden Market when you are ready to eat, and are in the mindset that Camden calories don't count. This market is filled with a variety of cultural foods, none of which disappoint. The desserts are incredible- homemade pastries, chocolate covered bananas and crepes to name a few.
