5 Ways to Spend a Day in Sydney

If there’s one thing to love about Sydney, Australia, it's the city's public transportation system. Not only is it clean and relatively punctual, but it's only $2.50 on Sundays. That means that as long as you have an Opal card, you can basically get anywhere for $2.50, thus declaring Sunday as day trip day. So, buy an Opal card, get a little touristy and check out these places next Sunday.

Manly Beach

Visiting Manly is a must for its laid back beach town vibes. Rent a bike and make your way through its parks, markets, and yummy beachside restaurants. For a less active day, grab a towel and chill by the beach. Either way you can’t go wrong.

 Blue Mountains

The adventurer in you will love Blue Mountains. Grab your hiking boots and prepare yourself for amazing scenery and a great work out. Don’t miss out on seeing the Three Sisters, and if you’re up for it, you can even find places to go canyoning or rock climbing.

Taronga Zoo

This is probably one of the coolest zoos world-wide. Come here to unleash your inner child, and get a pretty epic view of the Opera House and harbor. The ferry ride to get to the zoo is an experience in and of itself, and you can do the whole visit for just $2.50.

Bondi Beach

Known as a surfer’s paradise, Bondi is great for surfing, and is even better for surfer watching. It’s a perfect place to go if you want to sunbathe, shop and eat. The famous Bondi to Coogee walk starts here and is highly recommended.

Luna Park

Yeah! This is the theme park you saw in the Mary-Kate and Ashley movie, in case you were wondering. Even though it hasn’t been renovated since then, the fact that the rides could break down at any point just adds to thrill. It’s a really fun place to visit and offers another opportunity for you to unleash your inner child. Also, it offers a killer view of Sydney.
