Fun Beer-Related Things To Do in the Czech Republic

Although it didn't become popular until the 19th century, Pilsner beer has been brewed in the Czech Republic in the City of Pilsen since 1295. Since then, Pilsner has remained a favorite drink in Prague, a city where beer is typically cheaper than water. In fact, the Czech Republic has the highest beer consumption per capita in the world. Beer-lovers world-wide should definitely make their way to Prague, where beer has not only become a huge part of the culture, but has become the center of various activities.

Beer Spa

It’s not what you think—you don’t actually bathe in beer. At a beer spa, you bathe in small baths that contain wheat minerals and bubbles while drinking from a tap attached to your tub that provides an endless supply of beer. Make sure to go with people who you are super comfortable with because you’re going to be fully naked. Beer spas are super popular all over the Czech Republic, including Prague. The only downside to the beer spa is the time limit. You only get to spend about 30-45 minutes in the bath, so be sure to savor each beer-filled minute.

The Pub

The Pub is a franchise of restaurants that is based in the Czech Republic and has spread across Europe. In Prague alone, there are over five of The Pub's restaurants. At The Pub, customers can enjoy typical bar food such as burgers and fries along with an epic bar. Each table comes with a tap and each patron is given a number between 1-10. Each customer uses his or her number to refill a cup, and can keep track of how much everyone has had to drink on a screen. In the front of the pub, there is a huge competition board, which keeps track of the competing tables. Get ready to drink, because all of the tables are competing and all of the restaurants compete with others throughout Europe.

Beer Tours

There are hundreds of beer tours in Prague and thousands in the Czech Republic. In Prague, you will have the option to partake in beer tours that involve sightseeing or in ones that are all about beer. If you are interested in history, take a trip to Pilsen and get a tour of the oldest Pilsner brewery, Pilsner Urquell Brewery. It is worth the trek.
