How to Spend a Sunday in Bondi Before Beach Season

Sydney can get quite cold in July and August, so you won’t be able to tan on the famous Bondi beach yet, but don’t worry, there are plenty of other things to do! Here’s how to spend an ideal Sunday in Bondi:

Start your day in Coogee by doing the Coogee to Bondi beach walk. This walk along the coast features several beaches, one more beautiful than the next, ending with Bondi beach. It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes, but might take longer the first time because you’re probably going to stop every ten minutes to take pictures of the amazing scenery!

Once in Bondi, head straight to the Bondi Markets, which is only open on Sundays. This market sells everything from souvenirs, to jewelry, to candles, to (genuinely nice) clothes! You’re guaranteed to want to buy something!

At this point you’ll probably be hungry, so have a late lunch at one of Bondi’s great restaurants/cafes. Make sure you check that they are still open because some close early on Sundays. We recommend Speedo’s café (a little further away), Lox Stock and Barrel (in picture), Bills, or Brown Sugar.

If you still have energy, check out Bondi’s cool shopping on Gould Street, Hall Street, and Curlewis Street.

Finally, if you’re in the mood for something sweet, enjoy ice cream at Messina – Sydney’s most delicious ice cream spot.
