If you’ve just arrived in Sydney, the first thing you have to do is, of course, see the Opera House. It’s truly amazing! Here’s a guide on how to plan a day around a visit to this favorite Sydney site:
Head to the Opera House in the morning and book a tour at the reception. Your tour will take you to all parts of the building and you will be able to visit a few theatres – this tour is a must do! If you can, try to book a show. Pro-tip: the more in advance you book, the cheaper your tickets will be.
After your tour, enjoy a quick brunch by the water at the Opera Bar. Beware of the seagulls when sitting outside – they aren’t scared to swarm around you to get your food!
Next, you can walk the famous Harbour Bridge. The Bridge Climb where you go to the top is over $150 so you might just want to walk the bridge by foot.
On Saturdays and Sundays, there is a market in The Rocks, the neighborhood next to the Harbour Bridge. They sell food, jewelry, clothes and more. Once you visit the market, be sure to explore the area which is filled with cute shops.
Finish off your day by visiting The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, and if you still have time, walk through the Botanical Gardens on the other side of the Opera House!
